Protesting Against Racism in the Court System

  • Civil Rights Foot Soldiers Memorial Calvert Street Annapolis, MD, 21401 United States (map)

Hosted by Caucus of African American Leaders

On Wednesday, June 7, 2017, 10:00 a.m. demonstrators will assemble at the Civil Rights Foot Soldiers Memorial across from the Arundel Center, 44 Calvert Street, Annapolis, Maryland for an 11:00 a.m. protest at the Anne Arundel County Circuit Court, 8 Church Circle, Annapolis, Maryland.

This multi-racial demonstration is to call attention to the fact that Anne Arundel County Circuit Court has an all-white bench and that black women in its 366 year history has never been appointed to the bench. There has never been a Latino or Asian to serve on this circuit court.

We are demanding that Governor Hogan appoint black women, Asians and Latinos to the bench. Join us for what will be the largest demonstration in the history of the circuit court against racism.

Take off from work and take off from school and demand a circuit court that reflects the people it serves.
